GASTONIA -- JoAnn Stone peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at her residence. Ms. Stone was born in Gastonia on Jan. 8, 1953 to the late Clyde Hunter Stone and Mabel Stone Adair.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mabel; one sister, Betty Jean Gladden; and one brother, James Mason Stone; one nephew, Christopher Gosnell.
JoAnn was a member of Temple of Joy Church in Belmont, where she loved to praise God, sing and play guitar. JoAnn never met a stranger and would help anyone in any way possible. She loved visiting the elderly, where she would spread the word of our Savior, fellowship, sing and just be there to listen.
JoAnn leaves to cherish her precious memories her two sisters, Mildred McDonald of Gastonia and Judy Osment of Kings Mountain; one brother, Clyde Hunter Stone Jr. of Gastonia; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
JoAnn will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home.
Burial will be private.
