Esther was born on January 19, 1940 in Hayesville, NC to the late Roy Clifton Swanson and the late Edith Cloer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Willie C. Shedd and her brother, James Swanson.
Esther was a loving wife of 64 years. She loved her 5 children more than life itself, then came along the grandchildren and she had just as much love to shower over them as well.
She was truly the BEST MOTHER ON EARTH!
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Shedd of Belmont, NC; sons, Daniel L. Shedd Jr of Belmont, NC and Randy D. Shedd (Pam) of Fuquay, NC; daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” Denton of Cramerton, NC and Debbie Crocker of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Rachel Cook, Kandice Shedd, Clifton Shedd, Jake Crocker, Sean Taylor, Jeremy Taylor, and Joshua Crocker; and four beloved great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park at 2205 Williamsburg Dr, Gastonia, NC 28054. The Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home’s chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow all services at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery at 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Hwy, Mt Holly, NC 28120.
