Betty Jean Bradley

Betty Jean Dameron Bradley, 86, passed away on January 19, 2015 at Courtland Terrace. A native of Gastonia, born July 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Blanche Dameron Redmond and the devoted wife of 57 years to the late Wilson L. “Bill” Bradley, Jr.

Betty Jean graduated from Cramerton High School, class of 1945. In addition to her employment years in the clerical and sales fields, she devoted much time supporting her husband in numerous church, civic and athletic endeavors.

Betty Jean was a member of Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church where she served on the Worship Committee and Membership Cultivation Committee, participated in the Iva Styers Mission Group and United Methodist Women, and was a member of the Goodtimers and the Mary-Martha Sunday School Class. In 2002, she was honored by the United Methodist Women for outstanding service. Betty Jean was a former member of the US Postal Auxiliary and Opti-Mrs.

She is survived by sons, Wilson L. (Bill) Bradley III, Wayne K. Bradley, Bruce E. Bradley and wife Donna; daughter, Beverly B. Kellar; seven grandchildren, Ana Bradley, Samantha Bradley, Logan Bradley, Bren Bradley, Benjamin Bradley, Andrew Bradley, Ashley Bradley; two great grandchildren, Eli Bradley, Autumn Bradley.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall and the Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Debra Short officiating.

Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
