Willodean Dennis of Kimberly, Alabama, was born on August 1, 1941, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 28, 2023. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Dennis and his wife, Trudy, of Mt, Olive, Alabama. Granddaughter Kendyl Dennis Standridge, and her husband, Will of Amarillo, Texas, a brother Noel Gardner, and several nephews.
Willodean was the wife of the late, Mack Dennis, Jr. for over 50 years, the daughter of the late Mae Garner and stepdaughter to the late, James Roy Garner, and daughter of the late Wilburn Dozier.
Willodean’s life revolved around her love for Jesus Christ. She was always in a state of prayer for something or someone even if she didn’t know them. God’s love and light showed through her beautiful smile, her hugs, her prayers and every breath she took. She was a guiding light to all those she loved, and her testimony will remain in many hearts forever.
Mrs. Dennis graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School in 1959. She was a postal worker at the Kimberly Post Office for over 10 years and was also known for her famous hot dog sauce and her turkey dressing. She was loved by all who met her with her gentle voice and mannerisms as well as her willing to help others in any way she could.
A visitation for Willodean will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Willodean will be laid to rest in Morris Cemetery, 8590 Stouts Road, Morris, AL.
