Truman was preceded in death by his father, Grady Dye and mother, Mary Dye; brothers, L.J., Farrell and Norman Dye; sisters, Wanda Adams and Vera Allen. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Warren (Bill); son, Larry Dye (Rebecca); three grandsons, Trey Warren (Abby), Joshua Dye (Natalie) and Phillip Dye (Madeline); one granddaughter Allison Whitehead (Bill); 11 great grandchildren; brother J.B. Dye (Cecile) and sister Jamie Gellar, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Truman graduated from Fairview High School, in Cullman, Alabama and the served in the Army before entering a lifelong career in the steel industry.
Truman was a faithful member of Hope Community Church for over fifty years. He was a member of the Gardendale Civitan Club. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and helping them in any way he could. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of his life.
Visitation for Truman will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM with service following at Gardendale Ridout's Gardendale Chapel. Truman will be laid to rest in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, Alabama 35071.
The family wishes to thank Covenant Place of Gardendale, Alabama for the kindness and excellent care given to him during his time living there. Also, a special thanks to Hope Hospice for the care given to him his final hours.
