She was born June 16, 1937, the second child to Katye Mildred Evans Strickland and William McKinley Strickland. She went on to graduate from Tarrant High School in 1955 and attended Birmingham Business College.
Throughout her career she worked for the Iron Workers Union, University of Alabama Hospital, Carraway Methodist Hospital, Saunders Leasing, and Vulcan Materials.
She was married to Albert Vernon Graham, Sr. for 31 years and had three children; Albert Graham (Tammie Graham), Jeffery Graham (Regina Graham), and Jennifer Graham (Peter Virzi). She had five grandchildren; Kase Graham, Zachery Graham, Jordan Graham (Kristin), Jason Graham (Kelci), and Nicole Virzi. She also had three great grandchildren; Kasedy Graham, Walt Graham, and Adah Graham.
She is survived by her sister Nancy Davis. She was predeceased by her mother and father, her brothers Bill Strickland, Kenneth Strickland, and Wallace Strickland.
She was an avid reader and supporter of the Hoover Library. She served as a Deacon of West Side Presbyterian Church, Ridgewood, NJ and active at the Church At Ross Bridge. She was well traveled and we all loved to hear of her adventures through her eyes. She was an expert storyteller and captivated all in her presence.
Most of all, she instilled love, compassion, and morals in her children. She was always there for us when we were going through tough times. Her work ethic was passed on to us all and we are better people for having had her as our mother.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, November 25th, 2022 at Ridouts Gardendale Chapel, Gardendale, AL, with services to follow. Following services, burial will be at Walkers Chapel Cemetery, 1200 Ellard Road, Fultondale, AL.
