A resident of Tarrant, AL, passed on Saturday at the age of 75. Russell was a graduate of Tarrant High School and served our country in the US Air Force. He was a Baptist Preacher and he worked as a sheet rock hanger/finisher and a great fisherman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Helen Marie Startley; a son, Timothy (Melissa); daughters Eugenia Arnold (Tim), Sandra Trussell (Jerry), Gwendolyn Stracener (Dennis), Elissa Williams and Jennifer Hardy (Kenny); brothers, Louie Lee Startley (Barbara, deceased), Ronnie Startley (JoAnn); sisters, Ceily Whaley (Ray), Becky Woods (Jerry), Judy Walker (Kenny), Cindy Land (Darryl); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A funeral service for Mr. Startley will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation to begin at 10:00 am. Final committal service will be at the Adams Cemetery in Dora, AL at 1:00pm.
