Frances Giles was born June 7, 1935 to PB and Willie Edna Freeman. She received her place in the Heavenly choir Friday, August 28, 2020. She is survived by her daughter, Renee (Bob) Cordes, daughter-in-law, Susan Bradshaw Giles, grandsons, John and Jeremy Cordes, granddaughter, Whitney (Blake) Parker and great grandson Brody Parker, sisters, Cleo Jacks and Faye (Earl) McKay, Sister-in-law, Nell (Charlie) Strawbridge, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She was reunited with the love of her life, Johnny Huey Giles, and her beloved son David Keith Giles, as well as many other relatives and friends. It was a grand reunion!
Frances was a homemaker and care giver but she also supported Huey in his role as Pastor at the following churches: Ketona Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Dewey Heights Baptist Church and Pineywoods Baptist Church. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing. She enjoyed life and helping others. She loved to laugh and always had a beautiful smile. She will be missed by many but she is now healthy and whole.
The family would like to thank North Hill Nursing Home Memory Unit for their love and care of our Mom. It was truly a blessing to see the staff stop by to visit and pray over her in her final days.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at 10:00 am at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. Funeral services celebrating the life of Frances Giles will be held at 11:00 with burial to follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
