Earl Trammell was a hardworking man who at a young age quit school to work and help his family make ends meet. He had determination and the will to make a better life for himself and his future. In the early part of 1960, He rented a four-car garage from a family member and started fixing wrecked vehicles. He had a skill that was like no other. He could fix anything. He could match any paint color just by looking at it, no measuring system just a keen eye for color. He could paint by hand a perfect pinstripe that was straight as an arrow. A few years later he loaded up his 1960 Chevrolet without a driver’s seat (he sat on a 5 gallon bucket) to open his first body shop “Foreign Car Paint and Body”. It was there that his
reputation flourished, and his business grew. In the early eighties he bought his dream building on 6th avenue South and was there until he retired in 2020. He loved to collect cars. He was a big Corvette fan and had many of them in his collection. He loved to cut grass and loved going to the beach. Earl taught people how to “Do Better, Be Better” and pushed you because he could see your potential. He was a part of so many people’s lives he was Dad, Grandad, Unc, Paw Paw, Pop, King Wormy, and Papa Smurf. He will truly be missed.
