On Saturday, February 4, 2023, Dorothy Eva Fields of Oneonta, Alabama passed away. Dorothy was born in Birmingham, Alabama March 25, 1949, to Colleen Moore and Frank Walthall, Jr. The oldest of six children, she graduated from Ashville High School in 1967. She married Walter Fields in 1968. They were together until his death in 2002. They had two children, Lisa and Avery (died in 1994). She worked in customer service for over twenty years. She was a natural green thumb and loved plants and caring for her garden. Frequently, she was trying to take your picture, no matter if you had food in your mouth. She will be dearly missed by her daughter and many grandchildren. A visitation will be held for Dorothy at Ridout’s Gardendale, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, with the service following at 2 p.m. The family requests that you send seeds or a plant to her daughter, Lisa Watwood, for a garden to be planted in her memory.
