Charlotte was born on September 18, 1958, in Birmingham, Alabama and was the beloved daughter of Elton and Yvonne (Moon) Graham. Growing up in Jefferson County, Alabama, she experienced a meaningful childhood. Her life took an adventurous turn after marrying Kenneth Turner Sr., who became a proud Marine. Together, they lived across various places, including Okinawa, Japan, Camp Lejeune, and Cherry Point in North Carolina. Once Kenneth's service concluded, they moved to Double Springs, then Attalla, Alabama. Eventually, they settled in Boaz, Alabama. Throughout this adventure Charlotte cultivated a life brimming with love and purpose, touching the hearts of those around her.
Charlotte's life was a beautiful testament to love and commitment. She demonstrated unwavering dedication to her family and the values that holds family together. Her 46-year marriage to her husband, despite life's challenges, stands as a remarkable example of enduring love. As a devoted stay-at-home mother, she not only raised her three children but also cared for her son during his health struggles and supported her husband after his accident early on in their marriage, showing incredible strength and resilience. Her commitment to family values extended beyond her immediate household, reaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlotte's love and devotion wasn’t limited to her immediate family; they also extended to her own parents and siblings. She cherished her parents and supported them with the same unwavering commitment that defined her. Her brother and two sisters were equally touched by her love and devotion, and her influence on their lives was profound. Charlotte's love was like a beacon, illuminating the path of love and commitment for everyone in her life. Though she passed at the age of 65, her love and impact will forever be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate to know her.
Charlotte is survived by her Husband Kenneth Turner Sr; Children: Kenneth (Jessica) Turner Jr. and Samantha (Brandon) Walkowski; Grandchildren: Justus Holland, Kenneth (Mallory) Turner, Seth Turner, Deshawn Grace and Charlotte Turner; Great Grandchildren: Carter Holland and Sagelynn Holland. She is further survived by her dear sisters: Myra (the late Doug) Cupp, Cynthia (Don) Hulgan, and beloved brother Elton (Nancy) Graham; sister in-law, Sheila (Jerry) Mitchell; and many other relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on through her family and friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her son Anthony Turner; her parents, Elton and Yvonne (Moon)(the late Jim Shepard) Graham; her brother-in-laws, Steve (Patricia and the late Annie) Turner, Tim Turner, Talmadge Turner, Richard Turner; her nephews Richard Burgett, Elton Dean Graham, Nathan Graham, Christopher (Toni) Turner, Dale Turner, Benjamin Turner
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Charlotte Turner will be held on January 24, 2024. The service will commence at 1:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, located at 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama, 35071. The schedule for the service is as follows: a viewing will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM, which will be led by Pastor Jerry Mitchell. After the service all will proceed to Mt. Olive Cemetery on Mt. Olive Road where the graveside service will be conducted and end at 4:00 PM. Her grandsons Justus, Kenneth, Seth, and Deshawn, joined by nephew’s David Turner and Damon Mitchell, will serve as honorary pallbearers and granddaughter Charlotte will serve as honorary lead mourner. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Children's of Alabama Foundation.
