Carol H. Melton, age 78 of Birmingham passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She always put the needs of others before her own. Carol was very active in and served as President of the Jefferson County Chapter of “Vocal” … Victims of Crime and Leniency since the 90’s which aided families who lost their loved ones to violent crime. Carol also was retired from Tant & Tant Formal Wear as manager. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Sue Dennis. Carol is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Melton; a grandson, Jared Lynn Dennis (Shannon); brother, Bobby Vanacore (Palma) of Louisiana; and her best friends, Wanda Miller and Margie Caslin.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 5th, 2018 at Ridout’s Gardendale chapel at 12 Noon with visitation beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Liberty Minter Cemetery in Morris, AL.
