Beathene Baity

On August 31, 1950, the Lord blessed the Late Willie and Helen Mason with a daughter, Beathene Mason “Bet” Baity.

Bet was educated at Carver High School. She worked at U.S. Pipe for 35 years where she retired.

Bet confessed Christ at an early age. She was an active member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama.

After a lengthy battle with an illness, she departed this life on February 24, 2020 at the age of 69.

Bet was preceded in death by her father, Willie Mason; her mother, Helen Mason; a brother, Roby Mason, and two grandsons, David Austin and Antorio Mitchell.

Bet leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, Charley Baity; a daughter, Tonya Jones (Anthony); a son, Christopher Baity; five loving brothers, Willie Mason of New Orleans, Louisiana, Terry Mason (Shonda), Daryl Mason, Justin Mason, and Robert Gurley all of Birmingham, Alabama; Uncle Paul; Uncle Lyndel; Aunt India; Aunt Patricia Sanders and Ora Sanders of Birmingham, Alabama; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and two special friends Gwen and Issac Peterson of Birmingham, Alabama; special cousins, Nikki Taylor aka. Nikki Boo and niece, Paula Swanson (David).

Celebration of life services for Bet will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a time of visitation to begin at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Her burial will be at 2:45pm in Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo Alabama.
