Alan Duane Sims, age 58, a native of Gardendale, AL went to be with his loving, Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Alan was a loving husband and father who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. He retired from AAA Cooper Inc. in 1998 after 28 years of service. He was a member of Pineywood Baptist Church and was an avid sportsman. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Bryant Sims; his daughter, Heather Sims; and a son, James Sims (Charity); a sister, Carol Karrasch (Rick) of Pell City; and a host of family and friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 PM. Chapel funeral services will be held on Thursday beginning at 2 PM and followed by interment in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to your local church or the NRA in Alan’s honor.
