Robert Lansing Linquist

Robert "Bob" Linquist, 92, of Garden Grove, California, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2016. He was born in Portland, Oregon, on July 23, 1923. The son of Jesse Linquist and Syneva Oakland Linquist, he grew up in the Pacific Northwest. After serving his country in World War II, he attended the University of Washington, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in mechanical engineering. After graduating from the university, he went to work for Hyster Corporation and then Boeing in the Seattle area before relocating to Southern California, eventually moving to Orange County, California. He was elected executive Vice President of engineering at Security Valve in 1961 and went on to serve in that position with other subsequent employers. He retired from Metrex Valve Corporation and continued to consult there at times until 2014. He had a strong work ethic which he passed on to his children. A brilliant and talented man, Bob had an accomplished career designing high pressure flow valves for the U. S. Navy and aerospace industry. One of his innovative designs was patented by the U. S. government. He married the love of his life, Lantina "Lanny", nearly 68 years ago. Together they raised and provided for their four children, Ron, Karen, Sharon, and Keith. He passed on to the next life at home, surrounded by his loving family, blessed by the Lord. He is survived and dearly loved by his wife, Lanny, his two daughters, Karen and Sharon, and his two sons, Ron and Keith, as well as Sharon's husband, Stuart, and their two daughters, Julia and Natalie. Bob lived a long, healthy, happy life. He was a good, kind wonderful man with a great sense of humor. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and knew Him as his Savior. He had a passion for music, especially Dixieland jazz, and for gardening. He loved spending time with his family, including his grandchildren, their spouses and stepdaughter and all of the family's pets. He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
