Ernest was a strong Christian who loved the Lord. He was caring, loving and always concerned about the well-being of his friends and family. In addition, he was also an ardent lover of cats and dogs, always being sure to carry around treats in his pocket incase a furry friend had happened to cross his path.
Ernest had served in the Army beginning from November of 1967 in the 101st Airborne division, though he was a "boots on the ground" Sergeant. He had received many awards during his time of service, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars, the Army Commendation Medal, and several more. Consequently, he spent the rest of his life as a very proud veteran after his honorable discharge in November of 1973.
Ernest will be dearly missed and forever loved by his friends and family. He will be honored with a committal service which will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in peace.
