Thelma Cook Walden, 83, of Bloomingdale, passed away on March 15, 2013 at Hospice Savannah. Thelma was born May 31, 1929 in Portal, Georgia. She and her husband spent many years living in Savannah before living in Bloomingdale for the last ten years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Angus Wallace and Beatrice Cook, her husband of over 64 years Walter “Jasper” Walden, Sr., sister Mary F. Adams, and brother Angus Wallace Cook, Jr. She is survived by her children Walter J. Walden, Jr. (Lawanna), Sharon Barefield (Pete), Keith Walden (Roberta), Mark Walden (Kimberly), and Gary Walden (Merry), ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and siblings Jennie Lee Baxter, Jackie L. Cook, Linda D. Willis, Bonnie B. Sommers, and Ralph T. Cook. Visitation will be held from 10-11am on Monday at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory, with Graveside Services being held at 12pm at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Bruce Fox officiating.
