Born in Windsor, Ontario Canada, Joseph was an adventurer and a charmer at heart. He headed south to the United States as a young man, however part of his heart remained in Canada.
Joseph served in the US military with pride for 18 years, completing tours in Vietnam where he received several awards, including the Purple Heart. Joseph was a tough as nails green beret special forces in the 82nd and 173rd airborne brigade and retired as an E-8 Master Sergeant.
His passion and integrity to those he loved was unwavering. He loved to travel, enjoyed good food and just could not walk past a hot dog cart without buying one. His dry sense of humour was his signature, not to mention the ever-present toothpick!
Joseph loved the water! Give him a fishing rod and a body of water, the ocean, lakes, or rivers it didn't matter. He fished from northern Canada to Panama, Hawaii to Alaska and many fishing holes in between. This love of fishing is something he shared with his son Adam. Giant halibut and erupting volcanoes made for some magical moments. So many amazing memories made. Even in the weeks before he passed, he was talking about his next trip to Alaska.
He leaves behind his loving partner Pauline Koerner, his brother Teddy, his son Adam, granddaughters Emiliegh, Gabrielle, grandson Gavin, his daughter Corinne (Vlado), grandson Michael (Abby), his granddaughter Alexandra, cousins, nieces, nephews and the many in his extended family.
Joseph is now reunited with his son David and many of his brothers and sisters.
The family asks that you keep Joseph in your hearts, call your loved ones regularly, enjoy a good meal and go fishing whenever you can.
