REYNOLDSBURG - Isabel Eileen Derry Ross, 98, of Gahanna passed away peacefully on Monday, July 24 at Sunrise Sr. Living in Gahanna. Born in Zanesville on June 18, 1925 to the late John and Luna Allison Derry, number nine of eleven children, she grew up on a farm near Sonora and attended New Concord High School. She married the late Clark McNeal Ross in 1942 and lived with various family members during the years Clark served in the Navy during World War 2. She lived in Hopewell for many years before moving to Pickerington in 1970. They raised five children, Karen (Gary) Graham of Zanesville, Cynthia (Larry) Kramer of Winter Springs, Fl, Diane (Mark) Wilson of Lancaster, Lynn Hinderer of New Albany and David (Karen) Ross of Lewis Center. After retirement, Isabel and Clark traveled to many different states, cruised the west coast to Alaska, attended many family reunions, and in her later years she spent several vacations in Aruba with her daughters.
Isy, as she was called by her family, loved and enjoyed her five children, twelve grand-children, eighteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren all who survive. She is also survived by a sister, Lita Vance of Reynoldsburg and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Isabel was preceded in death by her husband, Clark (Mac) Ross, nine siblings, Wendel, Dwight, Ellis, and Denzil Derry, Geneva Jennings, Pauline Kirk, Ruth Lenhart, Ernestine Bogle, Rita Blancett and two sons in law, Rodney Spicer and Gary Ash. She was a member of Reynoldsburg Community Church, 1636 Graham Rd, Reynoldsburg 43068.
Funeral Service will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST (1051 E. Johnstown Rd). On Saturday July 29th, beginning at 12:30PM. Visitation to directly follow service until 2:30PM. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Reynoldsburg Community Church or to a charity of your choice.
