Woody was born on October 12, 1946 the son of Elizabeth (Bobb) and George H. Woodworth. He was born and raised in Bexley Ohio. After graduating from Bexley High School in 1964 he studied at Miami of Ohio, earning a degree in 1968 in Finance and Business. Following college, he enlisted in the Army and entered Officer Candidate School. Serving during the Viet Nam war.
He was president and owner of Bobb Chevrolet, where he carried on the family business started by his grandfather, George Bobb in 1924. Woody was elected to serve on the General Motor President's Advisory Council in 1981. In 1996 he retired to pursue his life- long passion of golf. Woody loved his time golfing and being with his buddies at Columbus Country Club, The Golf Club, and the Legacy Golf Club.
Woody was blessed with a larger-than-life presence. He was a true friend and loved entertaining with his quick wit and story -telling. His beautiful smile would light up a room. He loved to dance, and will be missed by his dancing partners.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth & George Woodworth, his sister and brother-in law Jane and Dave Kondracke.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 39 years, Margaret (Peg) Woodworth, his son Curtis and wife Courtney Woodworth: two grandchildren, Henry and Camilla of Delray Florida: two nephews, Chris and (Brandi) Kondracke, from Gahanna Ohio, Scott and (Susanne) Kondracke from Bexley Ohio: one great niece; Courtney Kondracke and three great nephews, Tyler, Griffin, George and the large O'Donnell family.
His life was a testament to the values of hard work, humility, gratitude, and love for those closest to him.
A celebration of Woody's Life will take place on Thursday, September 19th from 4PM-7PM at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 E Johnstown Rd. Gahanna OH 43230.
