Eloise Ann Krumlauf, age 94, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2023. Eloise was born in Somerset, Ohio on October 11, 1928 the daughter of Alfonsus and Mary Schmeltzer. She attended and graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School in Somerset Ohio. She married the love of her life, Karl Bernard Krumlauf, on May 14, 1949 and they enjoyed a beautiful life together until his passing in 1987.She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor. She was a lifelong member of St. Pius X Church and volunteered at Wesley Ridge (where she lived her later years) in the “Ice Cream Shop” and as the Sunshine Welcome committee leader. She loved spending her time with family and friends and was always up for any family gathering especially at holiday time. In fact, one of her most cherished activities was decorating the family home for every holiday and later in life allowing her family to decorate her home for her while she offered her “ideas.” Her life’s mantra was “I can do anything I set my mind to” and she lived that out as she and dad raised 8 children in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She taught us all that we, too, can do anything we set our minds to. Such a worthwhile and lifelong gift from Mom. As a friend recently said, “She was a beautiful Matriarch to a beautiful family.” Indeed, she was beautiful, and her smile and laughter will always be remembered, cherished, and greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Karl, son Steve, Sons-in-Law Terry Koom and Michael Davids, Sisters Madeline Takacs (Ted), Mary Lois Schmeltzer O.P., Juanita Cline (Wib), Nancy Palmer, Rita Keller, Betty Hyman (Chase), and Audrey Hicks (Chuck), brothers Edmund (Betty), Mike (Juanita), and Bill Schmeltzer. She is survived by her loving children Lois Koom, Karl Jr., Roger (Gail), Linda Maynard (Craig), Dan (Erica), Lisa Reynolds (Marsha), and Leslie. Sister Fran Orr (Jim) and Sister-in-law Rita Schmeltzer, 15 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Lastly, the family would like to extend our most heartfelt thank you to all of the special people at Mohun Health Care Center for caring for Mom so lovingly during her time there. You are extraordinary people of God and we are beyond grateful.
