Edna Lou Warner, age 90, passed away peacefully at Otterbein Rehabilitation Center on October 30, 2023. She was a devoted and loving wife to John Warner for over 58 years. The daughter of the late John Alfred and Blanche Stapleton, Edna grew up in southeastern Ohio. After graduating from Wellston High School, Edna moved to Columbus and started her career at Rockwell International. She established herself as an Executive Secretary and spent her career there until retirement. Edna enjoyed traveling all over the United States, specifically out west and a few trips abroad to Ireland and England. All of her trips were spent with her favorite traveling companion, John. She built her life around family, friends, flowers, birds, and her animals. Edna loved her cats and especially loved her collies, Cindy and Lassie. She meticulously manicured her lawn and flower beds each spring and summer.
She will be missed by her family and friends. She has left a lasting impact on all that knew and loved her.
Her parents; brother Glen Cassill Sr.; and sister Phyllis Douglas precede her in death.
She is survived by her grand children Christopher Whissen, Michelle Watson and their mother Judy Jones. She is also survived by her niece, Debbie Timmons and nephews, Mark Douglas, Glen Cassill Jr., Art Cassill, and Gary Cassill.
Calling hours will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 5101 Johnstown Road in New Albany on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 11:00am-12:00pm, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00pm. She will be laid to rest with John at Glen Rest Cemetery in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, at a later private family ceremony.
