Debra Dougan

Debra Dougan, age 80, of New Albany, OH, formerly of Gahanna, OH, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024. A beloved aunt, sister, and friend, Debra leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication to those she loved.

An active lifelong member of the social service sorority Beta Sigma Phi, Debra's heart was as big as her commitment to community service. She was an ardent animal lover and advocate, always having a cat or dog in her home.

Debra enjoyed creating lasting memories during her vacations in Hilton Head with family and friends and Sunday night family dinners. She was a devoted employee at Mount Carmel for many years, and she took great pride in organizing her high school class reunions for decades.

Debra is predeceased by her parents, Jim and Peg Dougan; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanne and Brad Bradford, and Sharon and Don Bailey. She is survived by her twin sister, Diane (John) Goedeking; her nieces and nephews, Matt Bailey, Leanne Bailey, Alison (Scott) Miller, and Sarah (Kevin) Currier; as well as many great nieces and nephews and close friends.

The family also wishes to express their gratitude to the compassionate staff at The Avalon of New Albany and Capital City Hospice Care for their unwavering support and care.

A visitation for Debra will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. Debra will be privately interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
