Born in Lima, Peru, on June 3, 1965, he spent his childhood living in Cote d’Ivoire, Austria and Germany. His family settled in Akron, Ohio (Goodyear headquarters) where Andrew made many life-long friends. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he met the love of his life, Jennifer Carole Sliwinksi. After receiving his ROTC commission, Andrew married Jennifer and they moved to Heilbronn, Germany where he proudly served as an Army Military Intelligence officer (Airborne) in charge of security for Pershing missile warheads. Upon returning to Ohio, Andrew entered the civilian workforce and became an accomplished and successful distribution and supply chain sales executive, recently receiving the 2021 President’s Club award at Fortna.
Andrew was a loving and supportive husband, and a devoted and adoring father to Catherine and Mitchell, whom he loved with all his heart. He was a strong Christian man, and a loving husband, father, brother, son, dedicated colleague and cherished friend who was a lifelong servant-leader to all who knew him. He was a funny, compassionate and giving man. You could always count on him for help during tough times or to celebrate the good times. There wasn’t anyone he wouldn’t stop to help or talk to striving to make their life better. Andrew was happiest when he was with his family and friends, worshiping the Lord, traveling the world, and tending his beautiful secret sunflower garden.
Andrew is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jennifer, children Catherine (Matthew) and Mitchell (Vidhu), father Robert, sister Leslie (Mossy), brother Chris, half-sister Tracey, niece and nephews Evan, Connor, Will, Madison and Diego, mother-in-law Elizabeth, sister-in-law Lisa, brother-in-law David (Maureen). He is preceded in death by his mother Kiulani and grandparents Elizabeth and Frederick.
