Bill departed this life to go to his Heavenly home on June 4, 2011. He was born on Dec. 20, 1959, to two very happy and thankful parents at Rossville, Ga. After being in the hospital or rehabs for over nine months, he was very tired and wanted to go on to be with his dad, Calvin C. Privett and other loved ones. He was a good patient with a sweet spirit.
Left to cherish his memories and to look forward to spending eternity with him are his mother, Lorena Green Privett; and brother, Gerald "Jerry" F. Privett; his uncles, Leo Green and George Privett (Martha); his aunts, Wilhelmina Privett and Clara Green; several cousins and many friends.
His dad was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene, and Bill faithfully supported him. He became a Christian at a very early age. He has many friends from his church families.
Bill studied electronics at Walker County Technical School in Rock Springs, Ga. His work with ITT took him to several states. Later in life, he was self-employed as a computer programmer.
Funeral services will be in Gadsden at Collier-Butler Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. (CST). The Revs. George Privett, Wally Kinsman and Charles Legg will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the day of the service. A graveside service will be Wednesday, June 8, at 3 p.m. (EST) at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Greg Roberts, Wayne Kidd, James Miller, Bobby Adwell, Keith Holcombe and Tom Howard.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to those who have prayed, visited, sent cards, called and brought food. Also special thanks to the doctors, nurses and technicians who have treated Bill with loving care.
