William Herbert Bearden Sr.

William Herbert Bearden, Sr., age 92, of Ashville, AL went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 30, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Life Church in Rainbow City, AL. Keith Frix will officiate. Mr. Bearden will be laid to rest at Patton Chapel Cemetery in Hoover, AL. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will accept friends from 10:00AM until the hour of the service at the church on Wednesday.

Mr. Bearden was born on June 11, 1931. Raised on a dairy farm and milked cows every morning, Herb Bearden was use to hard work. It taught him the value of a dollar and what life was all about. Herb grew up with four brothers and four sisters. Learning to share was a necessity, not a choice. Herb was a devoted husband and dad to his son. His life also existed around doing the will of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Herb would tell you that serving Jesus was not a onetime experience. The fullness of the Lord was a daily walk of communion and service. He taught Sunday school 50 years using charts he designed. On the morning of December 30th, Herbert Bearden faithfully fulfilled the will of God as he breathed his last breath. I, Billy Bearden, do testify that these words describe the man I call my dad.

Herb was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Bearden; four brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his son, Billy (Shirley) Bearden; two granddaughters, Hannah (Isaac) Armstrong and Elizabeth Bearden; and five great-grandsons.

Pallbearers will be family.
