Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Williams-Southside Memorial Park for Virginia Anne Bittner, 64, of Southside, who passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013. The Rev. Rick Simmons will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Ms. Bittner loved traveling (especially to Gatlinburg), fishing, and cooking for her family (which was her happiness). She was formerly employed at "Things Remembered" in the Gadsden Mall, where she used her talent of engraving. She also worked at Youth Services in Springville until her retirement. She was an avid Auburn fan.
Ms. Bittner was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Woodard; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and E.P. Mabrey; and brothers, Joe Harris and John Harris.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Christopher Bittner and Scott Partee; grandson, Keith (Devan Beaird) Partee; great-grandson, Jordon Partee; brother, Paul (Ginger) Woodard Jr.; nephew, Eric (Christy) Woodard; special friend, Ricky; and special friend and caregiver, Kate Pate; and a host of cousins and loving friends.
Pallbearers will be Shane Williams, Matt Moore, Brett Hawkins, Drew Anderson, David Vincent and Mark O'Bryant.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff (Kelly, Cindy, Mary Lou, Betty, Elaine, Madison, Lana and Sarah) and residents of Woodland Place.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. K.J. Shah and to the entire staff of the CCU at Riverview Medical Center.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the funeral home.
