We were so sorry to learn of Bro. Creels illness and death.  We have very happy memories of the Creels time with us at Sheffield Highland. He was a wonderful Bible teacher and we are reminded so often of some of his teachings.  Our love and condolences to all the family.

Brother George had a tremendous impact on my life, as he was my pastor while I was growing up.  There are very few people that I point to that God used to significantly impact my spiritual growth, and no doubt George is one of those.  He was an amazing teacher of the Bible, and a faithful servant of Christ.  I know his reward will be great in Heaven!

I used to listen to Bro. Creel while on my way to my own church on Sunday mornings when I was a kid.  I always looked forward to the Bible Question he had that week.  I even called him for the answer one afternoon.  He inspired me to always put a similar question in the church buletin every Sunday, and I continue to do so to this day. For as long as I can remember, the Creels and the Caters have been good friends of my family. We have many good memories of growing up  at Lake Highlands Meth. Church with them and going to Woodlawn High with them. We have always thought so highly of them from "the Judge" to  Mrs. Lucille Cater and our thoughts will certainly be with all of the family. George was truly a great warrior for God and will be missed here by all who knew him. He had such an impact on so many lives including our whole family. Margaret and I often quote him when we speak of Biblical issues. We were blessed to have George participate in Charles' funeral last year since it was a specific request of Charles'. George was someone you could call a "friend" and a Shepherd. He will be missed here on earth but certainly welcomed Home by his Maker. Jackie, we will be praying for you and all the family. George meant so much to our family. He was truly a great warrior for God and will be missed here but welcomed in Heaven!! His rewards will be many. Our whole family learned so much under George and he is often quoted when we speak of Bible topics. We were truly blessed to have him for Charles' funeral last year; that was one of Charles' request. Jackie, you and all the family will continue to be in our prayers.

It with great sadness and joy that I hear of Bro. Creels' going home.  Sadness for you the family and for me his friend.  Joy for him as he surely has entered paradise.  My prayers are with you the family, a loss on earth, but a reward in heaven.

While at Walker Memorial Church in Birmingham, Bro. George was a major influence on my life. He married my husband, Al and I over 40 years ago and over the years came often to churches we served to share the Word and teachings of the Lord to so many for us. It has been our honor to know George and the whole family and count them as our friends for so many years. May God give you comfort and strength in the days ahead as George rejoices in the presence of our Lord.

I was saddened to read about the passing of Rev. Creel in today's paper.  I met him when his grandsons played soccer with my son several years ago.  I enjoyed conversing with he and Mrs. Creel at the children's games and, for years after, they would stop to talk whenever we happened to run into each other.  He seemed a very kind and gentle soul.  I know he will be greatly missed by all those close to him.  My condolences to Sharon and the rest of the family!

To the Creel family, Pam and I will be praying for you, may The Holy Spirit comfort you during this time.  Brother George was truly a mentor to me and inspired me thru his sermons, magic tricks for the kids and his love for Christ and the Scriptures, truly a Man of God. George and Jackie impacted our lives in so many ways it is impossible  to express in this limited space. He still lives as one who helped a young  man and wife  know just how sacred the trust God placed in our hands. And we know that their are many others who feel the same way.  He was WAY ahead of his time using visual aides.   He inspired us to keep listening for "sounds as well as looking for signs." His teaching on Prophecy was and is solid, and the life Jackie and he lived together...exemplary.  This Spiritual Warrior spoke softly, prayed ernestly, preached powerfully, prepared hundreds of souls for heaven and multiplied ministry through the numerous people he mentored.  He is a Man of God.  Vicki and I love you all who are in the Creel family and continue to pray for you all as you journey through grief.

To the family of Bro. George Creel, we a sadden to hear of the passing of Bro. Creel but glad to know he is with the Lord. He was very special to me and my wife because he married us 46 years ago at Alberta United Methodist Church and the works he spoke to us at that time has never left us. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time.

George had a great impact on my life and ministry.  He was truly a mentor and guide.  He has finished the race in real victory.  he will be missed.  Now it begins.

Truly, another warrior has been called home! I remember Bro. Creel when he was pastor o Ninth Street Methodist in Decatur when I also was the pastor of a local congregation. Although we came from different denominational persuasions and religious backgrounds, we agreed that we both had the same Lord and Saviour. I remember calling him one day after he had accepted a church in Rainbow City. And he said, "Bob, I left Decatur to retire, but God is blessing us here and we are growing so fast." I laughed with him but at the same time rejoiced that God had given him favor in that field on ministry. I informed him that preachers never retire, they just expire! I think he lived up to that ole saying. Rest in peace my dear brother.
