Regina was a pillar of faith for her family, and a source of unending and unwavering love and comfort for those around her. Her most treasured possessions were undoubtedly her grandchildren.
At age fourteen, Regina met her sole lifelong partner, Charlie. She was a member of the inaugural graduating class of Litchfield High School in 1978. She had a proud career spanning 25 years with Wells Fargo, beginning as a bank teller and ending as an Assistant Vice President. She cherished her work friends and considered them family. She worked until health issues finally made her unable to continue in 2015.
Regina’s most beloved moments were spent with family, traveling to favorite locations from the mountains to the beaches. Her life was spent passing on values of humility, love, and integrity to her children and grandchildren. Her bond with Donna, Karen, and Tammi was a testament of true friendship.
Regina spent over three decades as a devoted member of Valley Baptist Church, starting as a founding member and continuing as the church pianist up until her passing.
We find comfort in knowing we will see her again.
She is survived by her husband, Charles G. “Charlie” Murray; children, Jennifer (Wesley) Patterson and Charles A. “Andy” (Charla) Murray; mother, Jackie G. Barron; grandchildren, Wesley “Cole” Patterson; Carly Patterson; Cason Patterson and Lily Murray; sister, Jill Barron Cooper; brother, Douglas “Scott” Barron; mother-in-law, Janice Sheffield; uncle, Gary (Tina) Quarles; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Edward) Cohen and Marilynne (Bobby) McMahon; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Karen Fortner, Tammi Green and Donna Nail.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Valley Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Mark Quarles, Charlie Rains, Bobby McMahon, Mike Patterson, Steven Perry, Daniel Bates, Zac Nail and Alex Whitten.
Honorary Pallbearers are members of Valley Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Jason Ayers, Amy McGlaughn, CRNP, Dr. Sengar’s office, the 7th floor staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center and the loving people of Camelia Hospice.
