Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday-July 18, 2011 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Ray Fulton Walker, age 94 of Rainbow City. Dr. Michael Yopp and Rev. Billy York will officiate with burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.
Mr. Walker was employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 44 years. He was a member of White Springs Baptist Church for 69 years where he served as a deacon. Mr. Walker enjoyed cattle farming and will always be remembered by his selling hay to the community. He was preceded in death by his wife; Mrs. Grace B. Walker, parents; Charlie and Minnie Walker, brothers, Ralph (Mable) Walker, Charles Walker, sister; Evelyn (Charles) Glover and brother-in-law, Wallace James.
Survivors include his daughters; Patsy (Paul) Lang and Linda (Gene) Hammond, grandchildren, Jeffrey Lang, April (Ken) Peschell, Tammy (Delynn) Bouldin, Greg (Charlotte) Lang, Rickey (Cindy) Hammond and Wendy (Steve) Striplin, 16 great grandchildren and sister, Edith James.
Pallbearers will be: Jeffrey Lang, Ken Peschell, Delynn Bouldin, Greg Lang, Rickey Hammond and Steve Striplin.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to New Beacon Hospice and caretakers, Dana Peoples, Josh Kirkland, Whitney Nelson and Katrina Sims.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
