Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Paula Carter Hydeman, 91, of Gadsden formerly of Miami Beach, FL who passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014. Rev. L. Dale Butler and Rev. Bob Hundley will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Hydeman was a longtime member of Mamre Baptist Church. She loved traveling, and was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Edwin Hydeman; parents Walter and Nora Carter; brother, J. D. Carter; and precious grandson, Jody Edwin Tulotta.
She is survived by her son, John Phillip (Judy) Tulotta; daughter, Pamela Dee (Kevin) Ressler; much loved granddaughter, Emily Joy Ressler; step-granddaughters, Nicole and Erin Ressler; niece, Gloria Carter; nephews, Steven (Jerria) and Timothy (Melody) Carter and their children, Edwin (Sandy) Hydeman, III; cousins, Sundra (Larry) Robinson and her mother, Sue Morris, Brenda (Bill) Totherow, Loretta (Rickey) Short, Joanne Copeland and son, Chris (Jeanne Ann) Copeland; also remembered are Mrs. Hydeman’s devoted friends of the 8th floor at Holy Comforter House, especially Sue Gardner and Ruth Bell; lifelong friends, Dorothy Hilyard, Carolyn Tanzola, Leon Butler, Troy Wagnon, and caregivers, Barbara Robinson and Joyce Hall.
The family will accept friends Wednesday, September 18, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
