Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church for Mary Ellen Buchanan, age 92, of Gadsden, who passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at home. The Rev. Dr. John Reynolds will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is directing.
Mary was born and raised in Massachusetts. Her life led her to Gadsden, where she graduated from Holy Name of Jesus Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She was the widow of the late Dr. Jack Buchanan and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mary was the happiest when she was with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Becky Moon, Gadsden, Debbie D'Arcangelis (Jim), Venice, FL, and her son, Jack Buchanan, Bakersfield, CA; her grandchildren, George Allen Moon (Joanne), Bradley Moon, Kyle and John D'Arcangelis, Erika Echavarria (Manny), and great-grandchild Isa.
