Marcelle Stone Bearden, age 84, of Southside, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Rev. Joey Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at Old Harmony Cemetery.
Marcelle is survived by her daughters, Debbie (James) Sprayberry, Linda (Art) Cleveland and Sheila (Jeff) Clay. Grandchildren, Mickey (Shana) Fortenberry, Bubba (Christina) Fortenberry, Brad (Kris) Clay, Brittney (Drew) Anderton and Hunter Cleveland. Great Grandchildren, Raven Fortenberry, Alyria Fortenberry, Denver Clay, Kennedy Anderton, Draven Burrage, Ryleigh Justus. Great-Great Grandchildren Rowan Partee and Ozzie Denton. Nephews, Bill (Marian) Stone, John Stone, Todd (Vicki) Laverty and Tommy (Beth) Laverty.
Preceding her in death were her husband Bobby “Buddy” Bearden (married 54 years), parents Henry and Wilma Stone, brother William Bryan Stone and sister Judy Stone Laverty.
Marcelle graduated from Etowah High School and was a big fan of Alabama Football. She was a long- time employee at Pruett’s BBQ in Gadsden. She also worked for the City of Southside at the Community Center and Library.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brownie Brown, Tommy Ivy and Stam Pruett.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to the service.
