Visitation will be June 24th, 5pm to 7pm at Collier-Butler Chapel. Funeral services will be held June 25th, Friday morning at 11:00 am at Collier-Butler Chapel for Lloyd Jones, 79, Gadsden, who passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Sunday June 20, 2021. The Rev. Thomas Cooper will officiate. Burial in Mt. Lookout Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services will direct.
Mr. Jones was very family oriented. He was of the Baptist Faith. He had a deep love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was the type of person to give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it, always made sure you had food in your stomach, and a place to lay your head. Mr. Jones was a great provider and loved to work up until the day he could no longer. Mr. Jones was an avid music lover. He loved to play his guitar and sing with members of his band. He was preceded in death by the love of his life (wife) Janice Jones; brothers, Curtis Jones, and J.C. Jones; sisters, Syble Lynch, Christine Lynch, Lorene Bush, Juanita Hedgepeth, and Marcy Giese Father, Clarence Jones; Mother, Mollie Jones (Puckett)
Mr. Jones is survived by his two children Karen Jones and Kenneth Jones; Grandchildren, Jackie Wilson (Sean), Brittany Jones (Kaley), and Brandon Jones; Great-Grandchildren Alyssa Boyd, Jace Boyd, Landynn Jones, Malachi Jones, and Jocelynne Wilson. He was also excitedly awaiting the arrival of his fourth great-grandson Lawson Jones; Sister-in-Law Barbara Jones, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sean Wilson, Jarad Smith, Kyle Burrell, Mike Carrol, Tanner Carrol, and Tim Shaneyfelt. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his niece Anna Underwood for her dedication in his last days. Additionally a special thanks to Riverview Regional Medical Center, Dr. K.J. Shah, Dr. Narayan, and Amedisys Home Health.
The family requests no visitation at the residence, but invites everyone to attend the services.
