Jimmy, better known as Papa, was born on September 7, 1946 to Vicky and Bud Hammrick. After Jimmy graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1964, he went on to study Accounting at Jacksonville State University.
After graduating with a degree in Accounting, he spent the next 50 years as a Public Accountant.
In May of 1980, Jimmy met Ellen. Jimmy and Ellen shared 44 years of a loving and devoted marriage built on mutual respect, companionship, and unwavering support. He spent most of his free time playing golf, watching the Atlanta Braves and loving Alabama Football.
In 2023, Jimmy retired, allowing him and Ellen to spend more time with his sidekick, fur baby Oscar and family. To know him was to love him. He was always the funniest person in the room. He loved to dance, tell jokes, and make people laugh. Jimmy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His pride in his family was immeasurable. He was always eager to share in their accomplishments and milestones. What he enjoyed the most was watching his grandchildren's successes. In his recent years, he enjoyed playing with his great grandchildren.
Throughout Jimmy's life, he was known for his dedication to his clients, and his lifetime work family at McClure Sewell & Associates; Late Ronnie McClure, Linda McCarver, Mike Sewell, Mark Johnson.
Jimmy (Papa) will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Jimmy (Papa) was survived by his loving wife, Ellen Beasley, daughter and son-in-law Monica and Don Steward. Granddaughter Hannah Clough (Lane), grandson Hunter Clough (Madison), great grandson Riggins Clough, Greyson Chappell. Granddaughter Skylar Steward, grandson Kyle (Shey) Steward, great granddaughters Sutton and Sophie Steward.
His brother Wayne (Lola) Beasley. Daughters, April Tallent, Angie (Brian) Helms. Grandchildren Anna Tallent and Colton Helms. Special friends Bobby Neal, Benny Foster, Scott and Katie Brackett.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Vicky Hammrick.
There will not be a funeral service held, but a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends.
