Jimmy Douglas Barron

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel for Jimmy Douglas Barron, age 83, of Gadsden who passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Revs Mark Martin and Chad Hallcox will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Mr. Barron was born on August 10, 1941 in Gadsden, AL. He was a graduate of Etowah High School, Class of 1957 and a member of Rooted Church of God. Mr. Barron was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Sue Johnson Barron; parents, Herbert and Florence Barron; brothers, Wallace, Ray, and Ralph Barron; and sister, Evelyn Barron Ward.

Survivors include two sons, Scott (Rebecca) Barron and Rolf (Deborah) Barron; two daughters, Jill Cooper and Nichole Sowell; grandchildren, Rachel, Jessica, Christopher, Charlie, Kaitlyn; 6 great grandchildren, brother, Jerry Eugene Barron; sister, Betty Sue Barron Covington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Terry, Darrell, Nicholas, and Jackson Barron, and Daniel and Caleb Fleming.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm- 3:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
