Mr. Pentecost grew up working on his family's farm in Southside, Alabama. He later became a diesel mechanic, which led to he and his family travelling to various parts of Alabama so he could work on the heavy equipment used in highway construction. Well into his eighties, he could be found mowing yards for those who had no one else to help. He had a servant's heart and loved his Lord, Locust Fork Baptist Church, his family, and his friends.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of almost 40 years, Shirley Ann Grant Pentecost; he was then blessed with his second wife Barbara Ann South Pentecost who has also passed. He is also preceded by his parents William Ernest and Nannie Leona Pentecost, and nine brothers and sisters, and his son-in-law Steve Hollis.

DeJarnett and Jarrett Davenport and his brother Pete Pentecost.
