She had been a resident of Gadsden since 1936 through 2005, before moving to Greenville, S.C.
Mrs. Glidewell was a native of Ashville, daughter of the late Ross and Gladys Alford Ramsey. She was active in many phases of the church, member of the TEL Sunday School class, the Rosalee Appleby Group of Women Missions, and a charter member of the Young at Hearts.
Mrs. Glidewell was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, past Matron of Queen City Chapter-532. She also was a volunteer at Gadsden Regional Medical Center for 37 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Ralph Glidewell; son, Jerry Wayne Glidewell; brothers, J. Reuben and Ross C. Ramsey.
She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, James C. and Kathryn C. Glidewell, Greenville, S.C.; grandsons, Ramsey Wayne Glidewell, Orlando, Fla., Ross Turner Glidewell, Greenville, S.C.; granddaughter, Lori Anne Glidewell, Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughter-in-law, Amber Bagby Glidewell, Greenville, S.C.; great-grandsons, Turner Glidewell, Orlando, Fla., Ross Turner Glidewell Jr., Greenville, S.C.; great-granddaughters, Katherine Glidewell, Orlando, Fla., Ramsey Elizabeth Glidewell, Greenville, S.C.; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of East Gadsden Baptist Church and all personal friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service.
