Alabama. A 1948 graduate of Gadsden High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after
graduation. He served four years of active duty, attaining the rank of Tech Sergeant. Albright
was a Korean War veteran serving the majority of his tour at Clark Air Force Base in Luzon,
Philippines specializing in Communications and Intelligence.
After his tour in the U.S. Air Force, Albright was employed in the dairy processing industry with
Barber Pure Milk Company for 37 years.
Albright was married to the late Mary Ruth (Wallace) Albright of Gadsden. They were married
for 57 years prior to Mrs. Albright's untimely death. Together, they had three children, Stan
(Joanie) Albright, Holly Albright (Brian) Stovall, and Brian Keith Albright. The Albright's had 5
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A great joy of Albright's life was coaching youth sports for more than 25 years. He was not only
a great coach (reflected by his incredible success), but a wonderful mentor to the young people
who had the privilege of playing on his teams. Through the years, many young men have
reflected about how Albright's character, integrity, and encouragement impacted their lives.
Albright was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Wallace Albright; his son, Brian Keith
Albright; his parents, George Emory Albright and Bessie Ellis Albright; his brothers, Charles
Albright, Jerry Albright, and (Kyle) Marlon Albright; and his sister, Mary Helen Albright Mayo.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Albright's family has requested that donations be made to "The Stovall
Foundation." The Stovall Foundation supports youth passions and needs through sports,
academics, character, and faith in Alabama and surrounding areas.
