Esther Marie Bain

Mrs. Bain resided in Southside, AL. She was born in Alexander City, AL on October 25, 1938. She graduated from Benjamin Russell High School and received her B.A. degree from Samford University. After 45 years of service, she retired from State Farm Insurance.

Marie loved to volunteer at the Etowah Baptist Mission Center and was on the Senior Adult Leadership Team at Southside Baptist Church. She was always faithful to take up money and hand out tickets or do whatever was needed. She loved her ladies Sunday School class where she rarely missed a Sunday. You could also find Marie in the ladies bible study on Wednesday nights when one was offered. She loved to read her bible every day and every other year, she would read it all the way thru. She loved adventure! She loved to travel with the Senior Adult group all over the United States.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bain; her parents, Benjamin and Ella Futral; her sisters, Ruth Bartlett and Elizabeth Manasco; her brothers, Johnny Futral, Paul Futral and James Futral.

She is survived by her brother in law and friend, Robert Manasco; nephews, Brian Manasco (Renee), Barry Manasco (Jennifer) and Thomas Buchanan; Nieces, Marie Buchanan, Linda Taylor, Tracie Newberry, Rita Campbell, Shirley Lewis, and Terrie Henshaw; several more nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Barbara Posey and Jean Foster.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Collier-Butler Chapel. Bro. Bill Drummons and Dr. Brian Manasco will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Crestview Cemetery in Adamsville, AL. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will accept friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the Etowah Baptist Missions.
