Funeral services will be Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel for Edna Mae Harris, 84, of Glencoe, loving wife of the late Ray Harris, who went home to “Go Get Her Blessing” on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, with pawpaw Harris waiting to play her the guitar at the throne of Jesus feet. Rev. Albert Morgan will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Harris was a native and lifelong resident of Gadsden and was the daughter of the late Charlie Brown and Nellie Robinson. She was known for her love of gardening, fishing, teaching, Sunday Sclool and Camping with her family. She retired from EMCO and helped cater at Buffalo Rock with her son Tim Harris.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Gilbert, and Helen Stone.
She is survived by her sons: Kenneth (Betty) Harris, of Hokes Bluff, Randall Harris, of Glencoe, and Tim (Debbie) Harris, of North Gadsden; grandchildren: Todd (Chylia) Harris, Chris Harris, Kendra Harris, Jamey Cook, Brandon (Lori) Harris, and Kristen Harris; great-grandchildren: Alexis Harris, Gracie Harris, Jordan Harris, Hannah Harris, Abby Harris, Dalton Cook, Riley Cook, Logan Cook, Gauge NeSmith, and John William Harris; great-great-grandchild: Hayden Bearden; brother, Charlie “Sonny” Robinson; sister, Louise Copeland;and special nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Special thanks to nephew Keith Collins, and employees and residents of Northside Healthcare.
Family will receive friends Friday, May 31, 2013 form 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
