Gerald Stapp. David went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the age of 53. We celebrate that he, together with his earthly father, is rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
David was a life-long resident of Gadsden, AL, and a graduate of Emma Sansom High School and Auburn University. He served his community as a pharmacist for over 25 years. David loved serving his Lord as an active member of the worship ministry at Meadowbrook Church. Spending time with his family was one of his greatest joys. David was well-known for his world-famous hugs, generosity to those around him, infectious laughter, and his whole-hearted love for Auburn University (War Eagle!).
David is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Hobson Stapp. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Jennifer Roy Stapp; daughter Abigail Killian Stapp and son Andrew David Stapp; mother Beverly Killian Stapp; and sister Susan Stapp Rogers (Clay Rogers). Nieces and nephews include: Chasity Schroeder, Lyndy Saparow, Ashleigh Crumbley, Carolyne Lyman, Kaylie Norris, Jordan Rogers, and Jacob Rogers. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family wishes to thank the cast and crew of Theatre of Gadsden’s Looking For A City, the staff of Riverview Medical Center ER, the staff of Meadowbrook Church, and our family and friends for their support and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Meadowbrook Church, Theatre of Gadsden, or the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 29th from 4:00-6:00pm at Meadowbrook Church. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 6:00pm.
