David Wayne Lancaster, Age 57, of Gadsden, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2021. Funeral arrangements will be provided by Collier-Butler Funeral Home and will be officiated by Jerry Ponder. The family will be receiving visitors Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 12pm-2pm, with service immediately following at the funeral home.
David was a family man, he devotedly loved his wife, sons, daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren. He loved cars, and spent his life collecting, restoring, buying, and selling them. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and being on his boat with his family. He enjoyed time with his favorite dog, Bennie Anna Lancaster. He had a warped sense of humor, was clever and quick with a joke for any and every situation. He enjoyed, most recently, restoring his father’s old Chevrolet truck. He enjoyed being needed by those he loved, and he was always there without hesitation.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Lancaster; mother, Mary Ann Lancaster; granddaughter, Makenzie Lancaster; and sister-in-law, Michelle Lancaster.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna Lancaster; his sons, Jeff (Savannah) Lancaster, and Seth (Misty) Lancaster; granddaughter, Hensley Lancaster; grandsons, Kasen, Cole, and Cohen Lancaster; sister, Debra (Wesley) Wood; brother, Paul Lancaster; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Joann Weaver; sisters-in-law, Jana (Jerry) Ponder, Angel (Richie) O’Connor; brother-in-law, Jeremy (Julia) Weaver; numerous nieces and nephews that were all special to him; and special friends, Tony Elrod and family, David Almond, Clark Hall, Hoyt Vaughn, Kenneth Thacker, and Kris Holder.
Special thanks to Bubba Fitts, Michael Prickett, Bobby Lipscomb and all of Coates Bend Volunteer Fire Department. As well as, Bradley Saylor, Will Farley, and Etowah County Sheriff’s Department.
