Brian Christopher Hassell, age 39, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023. A celebration of life will be held on April 30th, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Hokes Bluff Community Center. Reverend Scott Hassell will officiate.
Brian attended Hokes Bluff High School and Strayer University. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was a lifelong University of Alabama and Atlanta Braves fan. Brian was a former 13B Cannon Crewmember in the US Army and served in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). Medals received: Army Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pauline Gulledge, Mary Hassell, Lee Preston, WL "Bunk" Shaw, and Joyce Shaw; stepfather, Steve Thompson; sister in law, Jordan Hassell; uncle, Mike Stallings, and cousin, Brian Hutcheson.
He is survived by his mother, Paula Thompson; father, Richard Hassell; bonus mother, Cindi Hassell; sisters, Heather Coley (Scott), Kathryn "Sunshine" McAdams (Curtis), and Alisa Clayton; brothers, Brack Hassell (Eva) and Jamie Thompson; nephews, Cooper Coley, Benton Hassell, and Seth Thompson and niece, Parker Hassell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cooper Coley, Scott Coley, Brack Hassell, Wes McCullough, Jimmy Nelson, and Donny Hunter
