Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Entombment will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
Bill was born February 21, 1929 in Reform, Missouri, the son of the late Ernest C. and Clara O’Neal Garrett. He married Mildred Joyce Taylor on October 6, 1950 at Mokane Methodist Church and she preceded him in death on April 9, 2000.
He attended Westminster College for two years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Fulton. He was a past Kiwanis member and he loved to play golf and fish for black and white bass.
Bill was in the plumbing business with his father in 1950 known as E.C. Garrett and Son. In 1964, his brother-in-law, Sterling Campbell became his partner and the business was called Garrett and Campbell Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning. Bill retired from the business on May 24, 1995.
He is survived by two sons, William David (Kathy) Garrett of Fulton and Dennis (Denise) Garrett of Nobelsville, Indiana; one daughter, Debra Joyce (Tony) Fugate of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jean (Sterling) Campbell of Fulton.
One brother, Clifford “Pete” Garrett preceded him in death.
