Memorial services will be officiated by Pastor Bruce Williamson at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. His family will receive guests from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Richard was born on August 14, 1944 in Callaway County to Glenn and Virginia Kimbell Harris who preceded him in death. He was married to Connie Sue Holloway Harris and she survives in Fulton.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He then worked for A.P. Green in Georgia, Mississippi and Mexico, Missouri and then the Fulton plant until his retirement.
He was well known in Fulton as the “Tomato Man”. He purchased his produce from Central Missouri Produce Auction and then set up and sold the produce from the car wash lot across from Westlake’s in Fulton.
Richard loved to fish and he also enjoyed woodworking, visiting the Amish country and attending Loafer’s Day in Auxvasse.
He is also survived by his step-brother, Dennis (Sherry) Martin; nieces, Billie (Joe) McDonald, Bobbie (Andrew) Harris, Beckie (Kent) Fischer and Shannon (Chad) Callis; sister-in-law, BeBe Harris; special cousin, Marianne (Tony) Claxton; life-long friends, Donald and Betty Knipp along with many other loving family members and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa “Missy” Harris and two brothers, William “Bill” Harris and Gary Harris.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
