She lived her entire life in California. Born in Carpenteria, she grew up in Vista, and graduated from Woodbury College in Los Angeles. She also won two international chorus championships with Harborlites Chorus, in 2004 and 2007. Wherever Sally went she made lasting friends, and she was always known for her smile, genuine warmth, happy disposition, and caring empathy. It was often said that she brightened a room just by entering it, and with her loving hugs she made everyone feel like they were her very special friend. Although she never had children of her own, she was always auntie Sally to the children of her adult girlfriends, and she loved them all. She was preceded in death by her sister Gailene McKinney and her parents Vern and Helen McKinney. She is survived by her loving husband Dave, stepson Rob, and the many friends whose lives she has touched throughout the world.
