It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Lennon of Fullerton, California inform that he passed away suddenly after a short illness on Monday, October 30, at UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles at the age 57 years. Born February 27, 1960 in Toronto, Ontario, he was the youngest born of Eileen and Joseph Lennon who originally from UK immigrated to Canada in 1953.He moved with the family to California in 1966 and spent his youth and adolescent years in Newbury Park and most of his adult life in Fullerton.He graduated from Newbury Park High School and attended the University of Southern California (UCLA) where he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering.He enjoyed a rewarding working career in the field of engineering and was employedwith Kimberly Clark, Fullerton on graduation and later Southern California Edison until his retirement from full time work on August 1 of this year. He was in the process of establishing a network of clientsin California, with intentions to engage in part time contract consulting work. In addition to this activity he had recently gotten his real estate license and was excited about an opportunity to work with his close friend Alex to explore some opportunities in the real estate world.He was predeceased by parents Eileen and Joseph Lennon of Newbury Park and is survived by life Partner Gail Nelson and son Cameron Nelson both of Fullerton, sisters Berenice (Marie Christine)of Delray Beach, Florida, Josephine (Dennis) Figueroa, Oxnard, California and brother Michael (Vivian)of Sydney, Nova Scotia, nieces Genneah Figueroa (Oxnard, Ca) Vanessa Lennon (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) nephews Joel Figueroa (Sacramento, Ca) and Chad Lennon and family (Halifax, Nova Scotia) as well as cousins and extended related family in the UK.Peter was an avid traveller, having made multiple trips to the UK , around the US and to Cape BretonIsland, Nova Scotia as well as enjoying regular journeys up and down the California coast with Gail over the years.He was an ardent sports fisherman and made annual trips to northern California with a group of close friends and Edison co-workers, in addition to the many salmon fishing trips to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. He enjoyed the outdoors, occasional hiking and trail cycle riding around Fullerton and to the beaches.His ongoing passions included woodworking and continuing renovation and gardening work on his beloved home on Lovell Place in Fullerton where he particularly enjoyed hosting and entertaining visitors from away including many of his related family members from the UK and Canada. He enjoyed attending basketball, hockey and baseball games in Anaheim and Los Angeles or wherever theopportunity presented itself and was a strong UCLA Bruins teams supporter.He will be remembered as an outgoing, kind and generous man who was dedicated to family and friends, with a zest for life in general, particularly in all that Southern California offered and had a great fondness of social gatherings and engaging conversation with any who would participate.The family wishes to thank the Ronald Regan Medical Centre staff, doctors and nurses who attended him during his brief illness, for their extensive efforts in his treatment and for their kindness and sympathy in his final hours.Visitation will take place at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, 902 N. Harbor Blvd, Fullerton on Tuesday, November 7 from 5pm to 8pm, with funeral services on Wednesday, November 8 at 11 am, with cemetery site services to follow at Loma Vista Cemetery on Bastanchury Road in Fullerton, where he will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or UCLA Medical Centre in Peter’s name.
