It is with great sadness Terry Roberts McGinnis and Christy Roberts Mazzaferro would like to announce the passing of Myron S. Roberts. Myron passed into The Lords Kingdom on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 18 2019. He was 87 years old.
Myron’s family was part of the great Valencia orange production legacy of Orange County. Born in Anaheim in 1932, Myron spent his young years beside his father working the family Orange Ranch in Yorba Linda CA producing fruit as a Sunkist grower. Myron, called Sheldon by his close friends, attended Valencia High School and graduated with the class of 1950.
After High School graduation Myron joined the Army National Guard during the Korean War. He served his active duty in the 40th Infantry Division, Tank Corps., Japan. He was honorably discharged 1953.
Through mutual friends Myron met Connie Audet, were married in January 1953 until Connie’s passing July 2015. They shared a home and grew a family together in Fullerton for over 62 years.
Myron loved to spend time with good books, model building, astronomy, summer visits to Newport Beach, and was an excellent marksman. Myron’s true passion was always flying. At every opportunity Myron got into the air when he could. He was licensed to fly single engine prop and glider planes.
Myron retired after many years with the Aerospace industry, (Ford Aerospace and Lockheed Martin) then found his new passion volunteering his time with the Fullerton Police Department as a member of RSVP. Myron spent many hours donating his time in the records department and received many awards for his hours of service through volunteerism.
Myron is survived by his daughters, Terry Roberts McGinnis, Christy Roberts Mazzaferro, their spouses, grandchildren, Jessica Robinson, and Jason Trimble, great-great granddaughter, Amelia, and members of the Audet family and many others.
Celebration of Myron’s Life will be held on July 25, 2019 at 10 am in the morning at St. Juliana Falconieri Church, 1316 North Acacia Ave., Fullerton CA 92831
All are welcome to attend services and reception following in the church hall.
