James “Jim” Landis Leachman passed away in the early hours of Sunday, June 24th at the age of 64. He was surrounded lovingly by his wife Susan Leachman, sister Sue Elliott and children Kelly Leachman, Garret Cash and Brittany Frayne at his home in Yorba Linda. Jim had fought a long, hard battle with prostate cancer for over a decade. As the son of Robert Earl Leachman and Marjorie “Margie” Fern Waggoner, Jim and his sister grew up in Fullerton, both attending Troy High School. Jim went on to graduate from the University of California State Fullerton in 1977. He spent the last 25 years of his career in an executive role at Enertech, a subsidiary of Curtiss-Wright, and ultimately retired at the end of 2017 as the Sr. Vice President & General Manager of the Curtiss-Wright Nuclear division. Jim will always be remembered for being a doting husband (to Sugar), devoted dad, dedicated Papa to Jameson Medellin, Nicholas Medellin and Makayla Medellin and generous friend to many. Though it was cut short, his was a life well lived. The lesson that Jim has left us with is one of being relentless in living. Life is good.
